AI automation doesn't have to turn into a six-month project. Many processes can be automated in a few weeks.
Where AI automates well
The first place I look is document triage. AI reads invoices, contracts and forms, classifies each one and pulls out the data that matters. That saves hours of manual work.
In customer service, an AI chatbot answers frequent questions and opens tickets. When needed, it hands the conversation to a person.
In lead qualification, AI analyzes each contact's data and gives it a score. The salesperson only gets the most promising ones.
Reports are on the list too. AI pulls data from several sources and delivers the report ready, as often as you need it.
Last, approval flows. If the request meets the criteria, approval happens on its own. If it doesn't, it goes to whoever decides.
What I wouldn't automate yet
Complex strategic decisions stay with people. So do negotiations that call for empathy. And a process that changes every week is not a good candidate yet.
How to start
List your team's manual processes and mark the repetitive, rule-based ones. Start with the one that takes the most time. Measure before and after.
AI automation is practical and affordable. Start with one process, measure the gain, and only then move to the next.
